Lets just all be thankful for what we have.
There's so much that is taken for granted about everyday life...Just waking up and being able to see the streetlights glinting off the snow on the roof is a gift. So is being able to start your car, drive to work listening to the ever-cheerful morning DJ's. To get to work, and carry a heavy lunch sack and a bottle of clean water inside.. To enjoy the people you are working with, feel camraderie. Even the little bit of soreness on the ankle, wearing from the boots, is a gift- At least there's feeling in that foot, circulation and nerves in working order. At least there's boots to protect from the cold and wet snow. The gift of not waking up in pain from a sore joint, or sore throat.. The gift of being able to take that pain away in someone else. Eating a yummy cookie. Opening a door to a warm house. Turning on a light, wearing a hat.. all things that to some, are luxuries of living.. The mere idea of getting into a warm bed filled with electric blanket cozyness.. A freshly washed face, teeth cleaned of grime and goo with a smooth feel to the tongue... all just wonderful things..
and lets not forget a nice warm hot shower to start the day... what a wonderful thing.. with the steam all wafting around
and so I will go to bed now... thankful for all the little things of the day

...and for wearing braids when running, a good clinic day, a post call coffee, the NYT, foaming milk bath, the smiley cafeteria lady, and the crazy BA.
